It has always been Peter's ambition to breed his own competition horses, and having a super mare in Velocity, his project was launched in May of 2010.
In order to keep the mare competing with Janine, Velocity was taken to Beaufort Embryo Transfer Centre in Gloucestershire for the procedure.
Carolyn Bates's lovely young event stallion 'Wish upon a Star', currently being competed by Lucy Wiegersma, was selected as the sire. When it came to 'flushing' Velocity, it was discovered that she had produced twin embryos, which were subsequently transferred into two surrogate mares, Guinevere and Izzy.
The mares arrived at Chavara in June.
On the 4th of April 2011, Guinevere produced a colt which was named 'Kudos', and after a long pregnancy, Izzy finally gave birth to a little filly on April 26th called 'Kenza' !
